- WHAT ARE YOUR RESEARCH FEES?
Actually, The Source does not charge research
fees. You incur no costs other than shipping as we assemble and send your custom VHS or
DVD screening reel that matches your stock footage request.
To search our databases online, click
here, or phone a stock footage researcher at (520) 298-4810.
- CAN I PREVIEW SHOTS ONLINE?
Probably.
We already have most clips from our library in our Online Clip Database, . The images we do have posted may also be accessed by clicking on the "Clip Search" button. Almost all of our library is also described shot by shot in our Online Text Database, . It can be accessed by clicking on the "Text Search" button. Many producers search there, see by a written shot description that we have what they are looking for and then give us a call at (520) 298-4810 to discuss the project or e-mail us. We have some ability to post clips or stills to the Web now; please call us to discuss details.
- THEN HOW DO I PREVIEW THE SHOTS?
First, call The Source at
(520)298-4810 and discuss your concept with an experienced stock footage
researcher.
A selection of scenes that matches your needs is then
assembled onto VHS or DVD screening reels. Each reel
comes with a time-coded, detailed 'shot log'. Most screeners are free; a handling fee of $75
covers rush and very large assemblies. Next-day shipping costs are usually billed
directly to your Fed Ex account. The Source accepts
American Express, Visa, MC and Discover credit cards.
- WHAT ARE LICENSE AND DUB FEES?
A "License Fee" is a release fee granting a limited
usage license of the scene(s) you order to be used in a specified production for a
specific market during the stated license period. Custom quotes are available if you
desire to use the same footage in more than one production, or more than once in the same
production, use the production containing our footage in more than one market, or if you

you order from the master to the tape format of your choice. The Source can provide
film negative elements on some, but not all, of our footage. For dub fee rates,

- HOW DO I ORDER SHOTS
FROM A SCREENING REEL?
Call us or FAX a purchase order with the screening tape designation,
time codes (in and out) of the scenes you would like to order and shot descriptions.
Also specify the desired format for your master (HD Cam, DVC Pro HD, D1, Digi-Beta, Beta-SP, DV Cam,
etc.). Upon receipt of payment or faxed verification of payment, we will ship the master
elements by your preferred means of shipment. Keep in mind that scenes on shipped master
tapes are subject to a 50% kill fee if not used. Delivery time for most masters is
24 hours.
